Tips and Guides about Terminal Journey Analytics

The screen where everyone gives up

Terminal journeys usually have one step that quietly loses a large share of customers, and it is rarely the step anyone suspects. A confirmation screen with an ambiguous label, a timeout set too tightly, a keypad prompt that appears below the fold. Instrumented steps find it in days; opinion never finds it at all.

Updating without interrupting service

A badly planned update can take several terminals in the same branch out of service at once, right at the busiest time of day. That is why rollout happens in batches, inside an agreed window, with post-checks and the option to roll back. The aim is for the fleet to end the day with the same availability it started with. It is one of the questions branches ask us most often: measuring the effect of a release.

Two days of watching beats a month of guessing

Data tells you where people stop and not why. Standing at a live terminal for two days answers the second question: someone reaches for a card slot that is not lit, someone else waits for a receipt that has already printed. Every project we run has both, because each one is nearly useless without the other.
